Though you’ve not heard her voice on these meditations, her presence is embedded in each recording. As I finished up and sent the recording to her for editing I noted, “I’m not sure about the title. Change it if you have something better.”
She did. This title is hers and when I first read it tears slid down my cheeks. I know what it is like to go home a different way.
Ruth knew too. She stood with her mother-in-law at the crossroads: Return to the life she knew before she became aware of Naomi’s God or go home a different way. A way with no guarantees, no plan on how to survive or what it looks like.
Oh friends, I get that.
This Morning Meditation is close to my heart and home for me. In it you’ll prayerfully consider how Jesus is leading you and your response to his leading. You’ll pray the words Ruth spoke to Naomi so long ago.
Where you go I’ll go.
Where you live I will live.
Your people will be my people.
Your God will be my God.
